Apps & compatibility

Plays in the apps you already use

Rebel IPTV speaks standard M3U + XMLTV and answers as an HDHomeRun tuner, so it drops into players and media servers without lock-in.

Media servers

Jellyfin

Both built in. The M3U Tuner needs just one URL — it reads your guide address out of the playlist. Via the tuner, add the guide too.

Plex

Both work; the tuner is smoother, as Plex's playlist path needs a Plex Pass. Either way, give it your guide URL as an XMLTV source.

Emby

Both built in. Add the tuner or an M3U tuner, then point its guide at your EPG URL.

Channels DVR

Add it as a tuner, or bring the playlist in as custom channels. Add your EPG URL as the guide source.

Players & apps

TiviMate

Premium Android TV experience — paste the playlist + EPG URL.

IPTV Smarters

Popular cross-platform player; M3U or Xtream-style URL.

VLC

Open the M3U directly on any desktop or mobile platform.

Kodi

Use the PVR IPTV Simple Client with the M3U + XMLTV URLs.

OTT Navigator

Rich guide-first Android player; supports M3U + EPG.

Proxies & tuners

Threadfin / xTeVe

No longer needed for Plex, Emby or Channels DVR — the agent answers as an HDHomeRun tuner itself.

Any M3U / XMLTV app

Standards-based output works with essentially any IPTV client.

Two ways in

A playlist, or a tuner — your choice

Most players want the same two things: your M3U playlist URL and your XMLTV guide URL. Some need a plugin to read them at all — Kodi's PVR IPTV Simple Client is the usual example.

Media servers get a second option: your server can answer as an HDHomeRun tuner, which buys you a proper channel grid, DVR and pause/rewind. Jellyfin, Plex, Emby and Channels DVR all accept either route. Which is easier varies — Jellyfin and Emby have an M3U tuner built in, while Plex's playlist path needs a Plex Pass, so the tuner is the smoother one there.

The tuner never carries the guide. It hands over your channels — their numbers and names — and nothing about what's on them, so on that route you always add your EPG URL separately as an XMLTV guide source. The playlist is different: it carries the guide's address inside it, so a player that looks there needs only the one URL. And because your server never announces itself on the network, you always type its address in yourself.

Bring your own player

If it reads an M3U and an XMLTV guide, it works with Rebel IPTV. Deploy an instance and connect your favourite app.
